Ort:

Center for Advanced Studies Seestr. 13 80802 Munich

Workshop organized by Dr. Andreas Döpp and Dr. Tom Sterkenburg (CAS Young Center/LMU).

How do scientists from diverse disciplines approach the problem of the specification of the prior? Can we formulate general methodological guidelines for this problem? What does it mean for a prior to be good?
In this workshop, the members of the interdisciplinary CAS Research Focus “Bayesian Methods in Science” will discuss practical, methodological, and philosophical issues surrounding the characteristic initial step of Bayesian inference.

Participants include the members of the CAS Research Focus “Bayesian Reasoning”.
